Register

 

Users may create their own access to VIP via the Registration function if they are not pre-registered (given a User Name and Password) by a Company Administrator with the Create User function.

Note

The Company Administrator pre-determines what information (Group) self-registered users have access to and what those users can do with this information (Role) in the Self Service Default Roles function. Generally, self-registered users have access to their own records.

To register as a user of the application, click to display the Registration page.

 

Note

Only active employees already in the Vision database can self-register.  If an inactive employee tries to register, the system displays an appropriate message:

Registration Failure - please contact your administrator.

 

Company Information

Enter your Company Name in the text box. Contact your Company Administrator for the exact name to enter.

Note

If the Company Name does not match,  the system displays an appropriate message:

Unknown Company Name.

 

 

Personal Information

Enter your First Name, Middle Initial (if any), Last Name, and Social Security Number in the related text boxes.

 

Enter your Birthdate directly into the text box or click to select it from the pop-up calendar.

 

Note

If the birth date or SSN does not match the related entry in the Vision database, the system displays an appropriate message:

Unable to validate identity of employee.

 

Authentication Information

Enter your Username in accordance with the Username Policy:

  •  Must be six characters or more

  •  Cannot contain special characters and spaces excluding @ _ .

  • Must be a valid e-mail address

Notes

1. If the Username is not in email format, the system displays an appropriate message:

User Name does not match the policy.

2. If the Username is already in use, the system displays an appropriate message:

User name already exists.

 

Enter your Password in accordance with the Password Policy:

  • Must be six characters or more

  • Contains at least one number

  • Contains at least one uppercase character

  • Contains at least one lowercase character

  • No repeating of more than four of the same characters next to each other

  • Must not contain your first or last name

  • Must not contain username

  • Must not contain company name

Re-enter your password in the Confirm Password text box.

Note

If the Password does not meet the above criteria, the system displays an appropriate message:

Password does not match the policy.

Enter your Email Address in the related text box.

 

Validation Information

The system validates your registration request by matching either your Email Address or the last Check Number you received.

  • If Email Validation is selected, enter your Email Address in the related text box.

 

 

Important

Email Validation searches the database (Employee Master records) for the supplied Social Security Number, then the Email Address in the associated Employee Email Master.   If VIP cannot validate the Email against the SSN, it displays an appropriate message:

Unable to validate identity of employee.

This indicates that either the SSN or the Email Address does not match the entries in the database.

 

  • If Check Validation is selected, enter the Check (or Voucher) Number and Amount in the related text boxes.

Important

Check Validation searches the database (Employee Master records) for the supplied Social Security Number, then the three most recent checks associated with that SSN.  If VIP cannot validate one of these check numbers against the SSN, it displays an appropriate message:

Unable to validate identity of employee.

This indicates that either the SSN or the check number does not match the entries in the database.

 

 

Verification Information

Enter the Verification Word displayed in the Verification Image.

 

User Agreement

You must agree to the User Agreement in order to use the VIP application.

 

Once you successfully complete the registration process, VIP displays the user home page.
